Reports to the Associate Director for Aquatics. Develops extensive offerings in aquatic trips, scuba diving, swimming instruction, water exercise, safety certifications, diving and boating for the University community. Responsible for managing online, in-person and mail registration, customer service, instructor recruitment and logistics, equipment purchase, space reservations, course and event logistics, and developing program incentives. Manages the budget to accomplish revenue goals in the scuba class and trip program. Also responsible for conducting instructor evaluations, offering instructor feedback, and conducting monthly instructor training sessions to improve instructor performance. Markets the instructional and club programs to the University community and the general public. Develops promotional activities to increase interest and oversees the preparation, printing, and distribution of the class brochure.

Requires a bachelor’s degree preferably in education, physical education or recreation or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Also requires a minimum of two years’ experience managing an aquatics or recreation instructional class program or overseeing programming activities and marketing recreation programs. Must have current basic certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding. Requires demonstrated knowledge of financial management, marketing, quality control, trends in recreation and aquatics education, needs assessments, sports liability, and customer service. Must be able to network well with other professionals in the various aquatics and recreation organizations.
